Very Nice Vtg Singer 15-91 Gear Driven Heavy Duty Sewing Machine 1953! Sews Perfectly!

Take a look at this vintage Singer 15-91 straight stitch sewing machine. The 15-91 is gear driven and runs directly offa potted motor, no belt to deal with. It is very powerful and will sew through what ever thickness of fabric you can fit under the presser footwithout missing a stitch.I use mine for upholstery. It will go through manylayers of heavy fabric, leather, denim, canvas, sunbrella etc.This one was manufactured in Elizabeth, NJ in April of 1953. The serial # is AL321786. It comes with foot pedal, manual and extra bobbins. Attachments for this machine are easily and reasonablyavailable on-line.It has been cleaned, oiled and the gears have been lubricated. The decals show some wear and there is some painton the motor cover (easily removed), but it is a work horse. It runs smoothly and operates as it should with a very nice stitch.

The machine weighs approx. 30 poundsIt uses standard sewing machine needles, it is gear driven no belts to deal with, you can drop the feed dogs for free motion embroidery or quilting, it features straight stitch and reverse, adjustable stitch length, and it uses low shank attachments.You can purchase a zig-zag, hemstitching and buttonhole attachments that work withthis machine plus much, much more.
