Here for consideration is this rare DISNEYLAND Welcome to DISNEYLAND edition.Thistabloid sized brochurewas published for Walt Disney Productions by the Los Angeles Examiner Newspaper on July 15, 1955. That is three days before the opening of the park. DISNEYLAND was opened to the public on July 18, 1955. It was meant to advertise to the people that lived around Disneyland, so that they would get excited about the park and want to show up for the grand opening week.It has 18 historic pages that are shown in the listed pictures. It shows all the rides and map of Disneyland as it was when it first opened.
The edition is in good overall condition. Complete, no missing pages or pieces. No stains or tape. The paper isakind of light creamy color and is not yellowedand itisn't brittle. Prettygood for a newspaper,over half a century old. There are two light vertical folds, but I imagine those are there because it was distributed with the Los Angeles Examiner. This came in my Father's newspaper almost 58 years ago. We lived in Los Angeles, and I have kept itflattened in a large envelope all of this time.
It's time to clean out some of these things, and figure it should go to someone who will appreciate it more than me.
