WATERMAN No. 7 RIPPLE, RARE 'BLUE' NIB AND BAND -- FLEXIBLE ITALIC STUB!

EXCELLENT AND WORKING

WatermanNumber Seven Ripple pen in red ripple hard rubber with gold filled trim.

This is the rare 'Blue' nib, with its matching colored cap band. The blue was described in Waterman's ads as 'an improved stub', and indeed it is quite a nib. The improvement was flexibility, so it's both a nice sharp italic nib, and somewhat flexible. You can use it for any sort of flat-edge-pen calligraphy like italic and Old English, and it's also nice for everyday writing. It dresses up your writing and gives it a little extra shape. See the writing samples below, made with the pen itself.

The pen has its correct keyhole Number 7 nib with the 'Blue' imprint present. The gold filled trim is excellent, with almost no wear. The hard rubber is excellent with only minor fading. The imprints are legible with some wear. The cap band has been professionally replaced with an original correct Waterman band. The repair person did an excellent job as you can see -- it's not very noticeable. The blue band at the top of the cap is original and correct, not a reproduction, and it looks just like it should look, nice and flush with the cap, and just the right color. The white border is mostly perfect, but has a little nick in one place. The pen has its correct ripple feed.

The pen has been restored with a new sac and is in working condition. Ready to use (and I hope you do choose to use it) or just to display, filling out your No. 7 Ripple collection.

The Blue is one of the hardest to find of the color coded nibs in the No. 7 Ripple pen. This is a great chance to get a nice one.

Length is a little under 5 5/8 inches.
