On offer today is a nice pair of dinner forks in Old English pattern. Assayed in London. Theyare by premier makers William Eley & William Fearn. They are dated 1798-year letter c. Hallmarks are deep and clear. The length is 7.875 inches.
They weigh a hefty 137 grams (4.41troy ounces) and each piece is made of thick gauge silver throughout. The tines are long,sharp and almost perfectly even. Each is engraved to the front and always has been,definitely no erasures either.
A quite splendid pair.
