A PEWTER WHALE OIL LAMP WITH ORIGINAL CAP AND CHAIN, American, New England, ca.1840, 6 1/8" tall with cap on, 5 3/4" tall without, x 2 3/4" diameter bottom. Unmarked, pewter with probably a brass flame spout. The flame spoutcaphas apitted area which goesthroughand the lamp has a very slight lean otherwise it is in good, worn with age,condition. Topfount cover,has some tiny dents on the edge and a tiny hole at the top which might be a vent hole. Itscrews off and on the fount fine. See photos for described condition.
