This sale is for a a cigar box with a note signed by Winston Churchill attached. . The note paper has a House of Commons portocullis and a typed gift binscription "Best wishes from Chartwell" then signed underneath by Churchill in blue fountain pen ink.

These items come from the estate of Charles Gordon Victor Davies M.B.E. The M.B.E. (Member of the British Empire) was given to him at a garden party held by King George at a birthday party investiture in 1944 where he (Commander Davies) first met Chutrchill. He also holdstheLegion of Honor, French Decoration for service rendered during the Normandy Invasion of 1944.
