For sale is a rare WMF Art Nouveau 1900\'s Cache pot, or flower pot holder but it makes a teriffic champagne or ice bucket. Dating from the 1900\'s it appears in the 1906 English catalogue on page 377 and is numbered 201. It is finished in a polished silver plate. and carries the marks OX (oxidised silver) IO ( standard thickness silver plate) and the 1st period mark, Ostrich with WMF over G it also bears a small \"r\" mark which I do not know the meaning of. The pot has a raised band with an embossed fruit and leaf design which carries over to the handles

It is in used condition, it has evidence of wear in the form of a some light surface scratches, possibly a professional repair to the top of one handle, but I am not certain, I have mentioned it for accuracy. There are dents around the bottom of the pot an indication of over 100 years of use, the worst one is about 2cm long and 5mm deep, but this does not spoil the overall look of the item.

I have given the bucket a gentle clean but it would gleam with a good polish.The interior has not been polished, and has some light water marks. This is an excellent example of this rare bucket which displays nicely.
