Wolf Pair Saves Pups, Illinois Farm 1880s Woodcut Print For Sale
You are offerding on a page from a scarce children's book, published over 120 years ago. The print is a woodcut engraving. It depicts a mother wolf digging her puppies out of a trap/log, while the father wolf engages the hunting dogs as a distracting. THe story, which took place in Illinois USA, is told on the back.
The caption reads: "Wily Wolves."
Forgive the poor quality of the scan. The print looks much better in real life. The page is in excellent condition, except for yellowing from age. The page size is approx. 6.75x9.5inches and the actual image size (without margins) is approx. 6x7 inches (approx. 15x18 cm).
This is NOT a recent copy or modern reproduction, but a GENUINE ANTIQUE item. It would look wonderful framed as a gift!
