A fabulous antique mid-Victorian English pearl brooch; beautifully made with multiple layers of interwoven, graduated seed pearls on mother of pearl backing panels. It has a seed pearl-beaded rope and drop section,has amazing 3d forced perspective throughout andretains its original solid 15 carat gold (tests) pin.It dates from the mid-19th century and isingood, fully wearablecondition, with losses here & there to pearls and backing panels. It weighs9.1grams andhas a total drop of 3 ¾ x 1 ¾inches. The final photo shows it with a US penny (1 cent) coinfor scale, which measures19mm/ ¾ of an inchdiameter.
