I don't really know how to measure hats but just measuring the diameter of the band (the bit that actually fits the head) it's approx 6 1/2".This is a WW1 period cap although I am assuming it belonged to a cadet at Uppingham. It came to me with the set of Shakespeare books that I have listed - these were a prize from Uppingham School to F W Jones and, although the books are dated 1887,it isa reasonablebet that this was his cap or a member of his family(if the same person buys the capand the books, both items will be sent post free to any UK address).
