Ww1 Trench Art Era, Brass Bi-plane Model, On A Wood Stand - Moving Propeller :
WW1 Trench Art era, brass bi-plane model, on a wood stand - moving propeller !
Anaged near-antique item with wear consitent for age of nearly 100 years, which compliments its provenance.
This Great War era model brass bi-plane has been cleverly welded together using bullets and cut brass pieces.
It sits on a metal spike which is bolted onto a round wooden base (see photo).
The little propeller spins nicely around. The wheels are fixed. Measuring appx. 15.5cm length and 18.5cm across the wingspan, it stands appx. 12cm high and weighs 0.26kg.
The bullet wheels are marked. One is: "K 19 L13AI" (which I believe is 1919), and the other is: "K 12 50" (which I believe is 1912).
I've had this piece for over 15 years, so, sad to see it go (but I need the space !) and hope "she" will find a new caring home ! -could do with a polish, if one wanted to make her shine again....
Thanks for looking.
