I don\'t know much about military medals as I collect medals to the police force. This will become obvious as you read this listing. The story I was told when I bought these medals was that for some reason they were not issued with all the others and when they were issued at a later date the star was in the state it is now. The story came from the family and I had no reason to disbelieve it. I consequently paid a lot of money for these as they were with other medals that I wanted.
The bar on the star ribbon is a slide on version. The Star itself has 1914 engraved onto the scroll and Aug Nov engraved above and below. The name also appears to be engraved on the rear. The naming on the war and victory medals is different to the engraving on the star but still appear to be engraved but in a larger font than normally seen.
I have no idea what to make of this group but the war and victory medals appear to be genuine with no signs of having been renamed. There is no sign of the scroll on the star being ground down.
I have described these the best that I can. If anyone wants specific photographs I will do what I can to help and add the photos to the listing.
Any information that would help to solve this puzzle would be appreciated.
Good luck if offerding.I am selling items from my collection built up over the past 35 years. I will only send this by Special Delivery because of the value and Paypal directions.
