Ww2 Military Elgin/hamilton 37500 Aircraft Clock 8 Day F4u Corsair Korea:
This is a fine and good running Hamilton 8 Day Chronograph Aircraft Clock model 37500. These watches were a contract and collaboration between Hamilton and Elgin, with each manufacturing their own movements. This one was made by Hamilton.
There is no maintenance history on this other than the Depot level overhaul label that indicates a complete overhaul in 1953.
As you can see the movement is clean and undamaged and as mentioned it runs fine.
All functions are tested and work as designed. All chronograph hands reset to dead zero, and start and stop when commanded to.
The dial has a little age spotting on it but it is very striking and nice when assembled and the little spotting is hardly noticeable. There is a little bit of the red paint missing from the disc, also hardly seen.
These clocks were used in the most iconic aircraft of WW2 and Korea like the Voight F4U Corsair. These clocks are robust and hardy made to take it and continue to function.
A clean, lube, and adjustment is recommended if this is going to be a daily runner, or at least an oiling.
