Olive drab
color hat with wide beige band and brown leather visor and chin strap. Black
metal crested eagle cap badge.
Brim width:
7 ½” Crown about 2 ¼ high. Top cover
measures about 10” across.
Mark inside has
an anchor and two crossed cannon at the center with”NAC”, in a semi-circle
around it is ”ARMY AND NAVY CO-OPERATIVE COMPANY,”surrounded by a
rope; above is: ”ARNACOST” ”REG. US PAT.OFF”,below: ”NEW YORK-WASHINGTON-PHILADELPHIA”
Hat is in
worn condition. Stains and general soiling from wear and tear (sweat stains.)
Two small holes on cover, one from cap badge fastener breaking through. Leather
visor in decent condition for its age and still securely fastened to rest of
cap. Newspaper from era has been used to line inside rim. (I don’t want to
remove it, but clearly put in by original owner.)
