WWI US Springfield Armory Bayonet 1918 w/ Scabbard Sheath Flaming Bomb Logo Very Good. #879563. This is in very good condition. I haven't tried to clean it. The bluing appears to be about 75% and there is a small hint of rust near the tip, easily cleaned up. There is some light metal staining.Blade is very good with a few very tiny nicks along the edge, less than a 64th. Again, barely noticable. It also appears to have been never really sharpened. Logo is strong and clear. Locking device works great. Wood handle is tight, with 95% of the finish intact, or better.
Scabbard is wonderful. Canvas has no tears, rips and all the stiching is excellent.The animal hide insert, which is loose from the canvas,is also excellent, sticthing is excellent,with oneseparation in the hide about 3/4" in length. Interior wood insert is fine. All in all a great piece. This is very clean.
Overall length is 20 1/2" and the blade itself is 16".
