Up for sale is a vintageUS M1905 Springfield Armory 1918 Bayonet & Scabbard.
The bayonet has "SA" and the U.S. Ordnance Department's proof mark, a “Flaming Bomb” 1918stamped on one side of the blade and "US" serial number 960206 X10 on the other side.
The blade is blued and very sharp. The wooden grips are in good shape with no cracks. The push button latch and release works perfectly fine. The scabbard is wood with stitched animal hide or leather, (shows minor wear at the tip).
This bayonet fits the M1903 Springfield, Rock Island, Remington and Smith Corona rifles, plus the M1 Garand, Winchester, International Harvester and H&R rifles.

Length of blade: 16"
Width of blade: 1-1/16" at its widest point
Thickness of blade: 1/4" (6mm) Aprox.
