Rare WWII fixed bail M1 helmet was issued to the US Navy and is nicely marked to the reverse of the helmet "Beck". Helmet retains the original 2nd pattern Hawley liner with chinstrap. Liner is also marked with two service numbers 36563798 and 382301. Liner shows obvious wear to the outer edges but other than that, it is in pretty good condition. The steel pot has a very low heat stamp of 50B and retains about 80% of the original gray navy paint. Chinstraps are solid with brass furniture. This is a completely untouched example of a very rare helmet. Original World War Two framed Memorial Franklin Delano Roosevelt "In Grateful Memory" letter for Private First Class Howard L. Brunsman who died in the European Theater August 4, 1944. A copy of the 1948 application for headstone (included with sale) indicates that Brunsman was in the 12th Infantry Regiment of the 4th Infantry Division.The frame and mat are original World War Two era. Brunsman, a Kentucky resident, enlisted at Cincinnati Ohio June 22, 1943.UNCONDITIONALLY GUARANTEED TO BE OF WORLD WAR TWO VINTAGE.Buyer has a14 day inspection and return privilege if returned in the same condition as sent.
