INCREDIBLE LOT WW2 GERMAN!!!
Lot WW2 German, belonging to the soldier: Erich Ziegler, seconded by Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 98, belonging to 1 GERBIRGSJÄGER DIVISION, elite division of mountain hunters. Lot includes:
WEHRPASS: discharged on July 13, 1939, but the soldier joined the Army until February 1941. With its division, in January 1941, was prepared to participate in Operation Felix, the conquest of Gibraltar, which was later suspended. On April participated in the campaign and conquest of the Balkans.
In June, the 1st Division Gerbirgsjäger is transferred to the East to participate in Operation Barbarossa against Russia as part of Army Group South, fighting in the Stalin Line and the city of Uman and Vinnitsa, to the river Dnieper. Between October and December fought near the River Mius, in trench warfare, which lasted until March 1942. In May, the division participated in the battle and making Kharkov, and thence through the Donets moved to Rostov and the Caucasus.
On May 19, 1942, this soldier would be seriously injured as a result of shrapnel (mortar bombs, grenades, ...), which meant the loss of the fingers of the left hand, so it would be admitted to various Military Hospitals October of that year, and would be awarded the Insignia of Wounded in black, "Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz". Due to injuries, was discharged from the Army on February 27, 1943.
Wehrpas complete with a wealth of information: personal data, material delivery (between this famous Mauser Kar 98), units they belonged, hospital stays, reason for discharge from the Army, etc.. Very well maintained with the cover photograph.
WOUND GRANT DOCUMENT : of the Wounded badge in black (Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwatrz) issued for injuries sustained on May 19, 1942, at the Battle of Kharkov. The badge was delivered on July 6, 1942. It includes the lot, made of brass. The symbol was erased and missing the hitch pin. Very well preserved.
DISCHARGE PAPERS : 3 documents are treated, a postal service, the discharge certificate dated high of 27 February 1943 and a document of "good conduct"
PHOTOGRAPHS: set of six photographs that appear Gerbirgsjäger's uniform, with the Edelweiss badge sewn on the right sleeve. Another shows a group of mountain hunters in a vehicle, in which fender emblem is the1 Gerbirgsjäger Division. In another an interesting image of soldier laying landmines in the back is written in German "verlegen von minen". Another photo shows a destroyed Russian artillery piece and finally, the picture of a wolf.
POSTWAR DOCUMENTS: This is a certificate of discharge of returnees, will dated August 27, 1947 and an identity card, dated July 28, 1950, written in German, English, French and Russian. With Austrian stamp and cover photograph.
Impresive document, verdifficult to achieve. Great article , for collectors. Few documents are so well informed. Interesting document of the Second World War with deterioration and normal wear for the passage of time ...and a war. Take a piece of the History to yourself to hiuse.
