Discharged on June 15, 1941, in Vienna (Austria). He fought in the Landesschützen-Bataillon 445 (Rifle Battalion), which initially was assigned to Infanterie Regiment 623 of the 554th Infantry Division. In early 1941, this division was disbanded and the battalion was sent to the Polish border, with the mission of transporting and guarding prisoners of war.
In 1942, the battalion was stationed in northern Ukraine, in the town of Sarny, in security work, surveillance, anti-partisan operations and transportation of prisoners. This battalion, along with other units, were involved in the controversy, for his alleged involvement in the arrest and transfer of approximately 14,000 Ukrainian Jews, who were grouped in Sarny ghetto, and later executed. Soldbuch and Wehrpass with numerous entries that coincide (see photos): delivery of material (from this the famous Mauser Kar 98 rifle and the MG26 light machine gun), vaccines, permits, (all to his hometown, Vienna). Well preserved documents with all pages and cover photographs. No decorations consist
The lot is complemented by four documents: two merkblatt, one appeal of the Reich defense, and another brochure for the fight against yellow fever. Another document, is a curious Ausweis (Identification), which allows the soldier carrying the same, the transport of prisoners of war by different German towns, dated July 20, 1944, curiously the same day of the attack A.H. , in the "Wolf's lair" , perpetrated by Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg. The other document, I do not know their origin. It is accompanied by four photographs in which you can see, a soldier on the ground (dead, wounded, ...???) Dated April 1941, a group of truck-mounted soldiers, a sergeant with peaked cap and a group of soldiers posing with fatigues and armed with rifles mauser Kar 98 Impresive document, verdifficult to achieve. Great article , for collectors. Few documents are so well informed. Interesting document of the Second World War with deterioration and normal wear for the passage of time ...and a war. Take a piece of the History to yourself to house.
