An original World War Two letter including the envelope written by Navy Liuetenant William Nielsen who served on a submarine chaser. The envelope is postmarked 1943. The letter has a picture of the Walt Disney Character Donald Duck and says Submarine Chaser Training Center Miami, Florida. In the letter he mentions a U-Boat. The letters reads:

Dear folks-

Still in Florida-I sit & sit and my orders don't come but was told to standby Wednesday so maybe that'll be the day...........The Russians are still in town and still the smartest looking outfit................Activity has broken out again down here-a surfaced U-boat shot down a Navy Blimp on patrol. Lots of contact have been reported where we got ours...............Bill

The letter is in very good condition, with some light wear.
