An original World War Two letter that belonged to Private Cortland Kester. This was a letter written to him. The letter is dated July 31/44. The letter is written by his father, who says they are worried. I have a internet article that says Private Kester was in the 60th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division and died of wounds received in battle and was awarded the purple heart. I can provide the winning buyer a copy of this article or direct them to the website. I currently have other items listed that belonged to Private Kester. On the envelope there is a stamp that says, Deceased.There is a stamp on the letter that says,Deceased.Some of the writing is a little hard to read I translated the best I would. The letter reads:

Dear son

We received a notice from the war department saying you were slighly wounded in action that was on the 30 of July and and you were wounded on the 10 of July I went to the red cross but could not get any information please write and let us no as soon as you can or have some right for you we are very much worried and let us now if there is any thing we can do my thoughts are with you..........Father

Overall the letter is in good condition with wear.
