Wwii Us Army Air Corps A2 Flying Jacket By Perry Sportswear Size 46:
- For your consideration is a WWII US Army Air Corps flight jacket in a desirable large size, a 46. The jacket has never had a patch or name tag stitched to it, thus no stitch marks from any removed insignia. The flying jacket was made by Perry Sportswear. It has a Conmar zip that looks to be original to me, and it works very well, and has no broken teeth on the zip. The waist knit and cuff knit are a slightly different shade of brown and look either original or perhaps a replacement from a long time ago. Overall the leather is in good condition and does not have the dry rot or similar issues as some WWII jackets have. The jacket has been worn, and shows signs of wear on the inside seam area of both sleeves. There are what looks like paint or similar material on the right sleeve in a couple of places, fortunately it is not serious or large in nature. The only wear areas to the leather are on the collar where it folds over in a couple of places. The original spec tag and size tag are still present and it has the original brown lining with wear areas along the neck area. The neck and pocket snaps all work well. Overall I would rate the jacket as a 6.5 to 7.0 on a scale to 10. You may have seen this flying jacket on the veterans footlocker website for $1,300.00.
