- working vintage 1920s Fountain Pen ~ Good sturdy condition, Made in U.S.A., this is the less common 0552 1/2 model - a full 6 & 1/2\" posted, a Collectible classic pen and a very usable approx 90 year old Writing Tool also :-) It is ready to fill with ink & write :-) - minimal rubber fade , very dark exposed hard rubber, good shine, the Gold Filled overlay is Excellent ! I see no brassing, there are a few small indentations that are not detracting & would not show on the photos, This is an original Clip-less pen (the factory never installed a clip, no provisions for a clip) - I just installed a brand new quality ink sac, the feed has been ultrasonically cleaned, with a good working stress free lever Box & filling mechanism and pressure bar. -
- 18K Gold filled trim, with a nice \"globe\" logo under the lever Globe.
- No Cracks, (perfect cap lip) no warp, no personal engravings
- It comes in a nice the nice sturdy vintage Waterman Box it was found in , With a very nice color Ink Advert insert, box has wear, but no ripe, & very markings inside & out as shown
IDEAL #2 Nib, 14K , Nice smooth very fine point on Rhodia paper , not bad on cheap copy paper, (X-fine with a light hand) , with Excellent Iridium tipping (see photo :-) , very nice on Rhodia paper, The nib is Very flexy , a very controllable flex - Very nice line variation, going from Fine to 1.8 mm max possible with out over flexing,you will have control for every day Very fine line writing with a light hand.
- It is a clean straight stress free early Waterman Ideal nib in very well preserved condition. The heart of the channel feed = very good ink flow
- Great for doodling , sketching , or every day fine point note taking and/or expressive letter writing :-) and copperplate / Spencerian.
- The Paper is from a Rhodia Dotpad No. 16, the dots are 5mm apart to help you gauge the line variation. The inks are Waterman South Sea Blue & Diamine Monaco Red. (& Robert Oster \"Khakhi\")
- The pen is 5 & 3/8\" capped, and a full 6 & 1/2\" posted. Fits my hand well when posted.
