Some more information about this beautiful Waterman Patricia....
This wonderful pen is FULLY working as when new and is dated from the early 1930s, Made in USA. The colours on this pen are a delight to behold. Known as the Moss Agate model it has the most amazing earthy, Greens, Bronze, Sienna even flashes of Gold mixed with Pearl and opalescent pastels of Light greens etc to form an elegant Marble effect. Made of early Celluloid. The photographs do not do its beauty justice. Looks even better in person.... Also the closer you get the more amazing it becomes. The pen is inphenomenalcondition for its age. The Waterman Ideal, Made in USA etc barrel imprints are deep and crisp as new. Never polished this pen is a rare survivor indeed. Has no dents, scratches or bite marks etc... The rare Art Deco Clip, ring and lever are yellow gold plated.
The original 14K REG US 2 Nib is also superb. A joy to write with. Very smooth with no paper scratch. It lays down a wonderful medium line. It also has User friendly firm flex. The flex allows for line width variation byapplyingvarying levels of pressure on the down stroke. Easily writes from medium all the way to double broad. Very creative line full of personality. Great nib. Very easy to write with in Anyone's hand. Truly user friendly Nib.
The Patrica was part of Watermans Patrician range launched in 1929 - 1932 and was their premium line. The name Patrician is taken from the Ancient Roman word Patricius. Patricius were the ruling class of native born Roman in Rome. The ruling families etc. Aristocracy. Waterman made the Patrician range to be the worlds best pen. Their most expensive ever production.Unfortunately for Watermanthe early 1930s was depression era in the USA and war was brewing all over the world. So the Patrician sold very few pens. Too late to be the first Celluloid pen and too expensive in a time where people were watching the purse strings. In many ways the Patrician was a failure. However its quality manufacture still endures and the Patrician is now regarded as one of the greatest pens ever made and are highly sought after collectibles.
The pen has been fully serviced and cleaned. A new sac fitted then re-assembled as it left the factory in the 1930s. All functions 100% as new.To fill could not be easier. Simply pull lever down 90 degree and then place nib in ink. Close the lever down flush. Take nib out of ink. Wipe excess. Done. Takes seconds.
Perfect as a gift or treat yourself to a quality vintage Waterman fountain pen.
