Wax Museum Figure Life Size Pilgrim By Dorfman Ultimate Thanksgiving Decoration For Sale
Buy yourself a piece of history. (or a buddy for your passenger seat) This life size wax museum figure is from the now closed Plymouth national Wax Museum, in Plymouth MA. It was made by the Dorfman company, the premier maker of museum figures, made in the USA for museums all over the world. Dorfman figures cost from $3000 to $6000 each when new. Just to be clear, while they are still called "wax" figures, the face and hands are made of Vinyl, so you need not worry about melting in the extreme heat or direct sun.This figure was made for the museum about 40 years ago, but depicts the garb associated with Pilgrims when they landed at Plymouth in 1620. The face and hands on this figure are so life like that he has scared the begeezus out of more than one person since I brought him home. He comes to you fully clothed, including shoes, but he just has little stubs for feet, so you do have to put a little effort in to keeping his shoes on, if you don't have them resting on the floor or a step. If he were able to stand he would be a little over 5 feet tall, and as you can see, he can sit in an adult sized chair. Dorfman uses real human hair, implanted one strand at a time. The head can be removed for transport. Other than 40 plus years of museum dust, he is in real good condition. The hat has a long rip in the brim which I believe is there by design. If you are close enough and want to view him in person before you offer, that can be arranged. Since these photos were taken I have discovered that his arms can be moved to put him in a more reasonable pose. If you are in the Northeast, I can even deliver him to you. If you are farther away, I can dismantle him far enough to ship him in two boxes. There will be no tools or special skills required to to reassemble him.
