Back in 1981 my brother was a firefighter inFlorida. Unfortunately, a fire destroyedhis house and he lost everything – including the Fire Dept. patch collection hehad started. Since I lived in adifferent city, I went down to the local fire department to get a patch tostart a new collection for him. Theysurprised me by giving me a list of addresses for fire departments across thecountry who exchanged patches. I wroteto over 500 fire departments asking for a patch for his ‘new’ collection and Ireceived lots of patches in return. Ilearned a lot about the wonderful ‘brotherhood’ that all firefighters sharewith one another. I still remember thelook on his face when he opened the box containing his ‘new’ collection.
My brother passed away recently and I have thousands ofpatches tosell – most in unused, pristine, mint condition, and a few that are used. I will describe them as best I can andinclude extra photos when they are used so you can judge the condition foryourself. I am sure that you will enjoyadding these beautiful patches to your own collection!
