This is an early (late 18th Century) Wedgwood Black Basalt Urn. It has beautifully molded decorations and a great patina. It measures 9 1/2" high and 4" in diameter at the widest point.I'm not sure if it is missing a small lid (perhaps with a finial on top?). I also believe there were some kind of handles that are now missing. The upper part is loose, it was glued on with hide glue that dried up. If you would like, I will glue it again using hide glue. A very decorative, early piece.
