Offeredis this charming deep rectangular covered dish or box with a pedestal base thatfeatures a wide lacey border. The lid depicts a lady’s hand gently clasping abird which seems to be a white dove.

Thebird’s eye is black encircled by tawny gold. The woman’s hand has embossed lacerosettes at the wrist and a turquoise ring on her middle finger.

Webelieve this piece was made by Westmoreland Glass although we cannot find amark.

Anearlier rendition of this piece was made about 1889 by Atterbury Glass.

Thecovered dish or bowl probably was used as a glove box or trinket dish.

Itmeasures 8 inches long (20.5 cm), 5 inches wide (23 cm) and 5 inches high (23cm) to the top of the dove’s head.

Verygood used condition with no chips or cracks that we have observed.

Theitem will be insured.
