Tonight I\'m happy to offer, from a recently purchased estate, Antique - Whiting, Sterling Silver - Mid to Late 1870\'s - Japanese Pattern - 7\" Dessert Spoon.
EXTREMELY RARE PATTERN - 132.4 Grams - Excellent Condition! - !
This graceful and elegant spoon and fork dates from the mid to late 1870\'s, of American make and origin, made by Whiting in their popular \'Japanese\' pattern first introduced in 1875, designed as a 7\" dessert spoon detailed on the front and back with an intricate chased bird floral pattern motif. The spoon is solid and heavy with a silver weight of 40.4 grams.
The spoon is in excellent condition showing little wear other than normal use with no rubbing or wear to the design or details only in need of a good polishing. The spoon is inscribed on the back \'Julie\' which can be buffed off if desired.
The spoon is marked and stamped on the back with Sterling and a faint Pat. date
