Here we have an authentic piece of wood from the Wright Brothers childhood home. Orville and Wilbur Wright were two Americans who are generally credited with building the worlds first controlled, powered, and sustained heavier-than-air human flight on December 17, 1903. In the two years afterward they developed their flying machine into the first practical fixed winged aircraft. The Wright brothers were the first to invent aircraft controls that made commercial flight practical.
This an original piece of wood from the Wright brothers' childhood home at 7 Hawthorn Street, in Dayton Ohio. Orville and Wilbur built the covered wrap-around porch in the 1890's.
