Wooden Stereoscope On Stand - American Lens - June 2, 1874 - Stereoviewer For Sale

Up for sale is a wooden stereoscope that is stamped "American Lens Trademark Stereoscope" and "Pat'd June 2d, 1874". This stereoscope is mounted on a wooden pedestal type stand for hands free viewing of Stereoviews. It measures approx. 12 1/2" tall x 12 3/4" long from 'eye shield' to tip of wooden slide. The pressed type cardboard 'eye shield' is in nice but used condition with some wear as shown.The front edge of the manufactured groove on the viewer end of the wooden holder has a chip out in the wood but the slotted grove is original to the item.
