World War 1 Officers Pocket Compass Sherwood & Co London 1915:
World War 1 Officers pocket compass made by Sherwood & Co, London in 1915. This is quite a scarce compass as this maker is not seen that often. The compass has the military arrow engraved indicating it was military issue. The hunter case opens and closes neatly but has picked up a couple of small dings. The nickle plating has worn on the outside and is more of a brass colour, in contrast to the highly polished inner case. The bevelled glass crystal covers an attractive jeweled dry card Singers Patent style black & white dial. The floating dial still finds magnetic north and is in fully working order.
