Original and used British Army WW1 machete/Jungle Knife.

The blade shows age and userelated wear and damagebut retains much of its original blueingand is stamped with the coiled serpent mark and name of Samuel Kitchin. Sheffield 1917. The blade also bears the British Army broad arrow stamp.

The hilt of the machete is stamped by its maker,Richard Melhuish, London.

The original issue leather scabbard is damaged and fragile in areas but repairable and bears the makers name Timbers and date of 1918 as well as some indistinguishable marks.
