The steel helmet is painted a very dark brown, has a painted regimental badgeand reads in worn white paint:-SHRAPNEL HELMET IN GREAT WAR 1914-1918 JOINED COLOURS 1ST SEPT. 1914 DISCHARGED 20 MARCH 1918The helmet is stamped to the inside rim: MS for Miris Steel Ltd.~ Royal Irish Rifles ~The Royal Ulster Rifles (formerly Royal Irish Rifles) was a British Army infantry regiment. It saw service in the Second Boer War, Great War, the Second World War and the Korean War, before being amalgamated into the Royal Irish Rangers in 1968.

The total weight is 710 grams.~ Condition ~The helmet is in decent condition withpaint chippedor worn away in places including over the writing. There is some rust to the interior.
