VINTAGE WWI ARMY HAT BADGE

Striking authentic US WWII Army officer\'s eagle emblem hat badge measuring about 2-1/3\" in size. Featuring an open winged eagle with crest on chest, he clutches an olive sprig and arrows in his talon claws, a banner marked E PLURIBUS UNUM trails from his beak and a stylized star studded sun finishes the crest. Complete with screw back for mounting on a hat front, condition is very nice with light usage wear to the gilding - no breaks, chips, bends or loss - minor patina on the back. I removed this from a WWII officer\'s hat - his name was Colonel Herbert G. Tearse MC - he served in the military Medical Corps for 25 years . Just a wonderful authentic WWII military pin - nice addition to any collection or display!
