Here\'sthe VeryRare1969 Krewe of Bacchus .999 Fine Silver Doubloon (First Year of Issue---Motto and 999 Top Variety). The doubloon measures 39 mm or 1 1/2\" in diameter and isinExcellent Condition.Payment due within 48 hours of purchase.Note: The obverse features the Bacchus Logo. The reverse features a Woman Serenading a Man Who\'d Enjoying a Goblet of Wine Surrounded by an Elegant Carriage, a Bishop, Bunches of Grapes and a Money Counter and reads \"THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE...1969.\" This doubloon was designed by Famed New Orleans Artist Blaine Kern and made in West Germany. The doubloon has the Bacchus Motto \"IN VINO VERITAS\" and \"999\" struck into its edge at the 12 o\'clock position, and is therefore referred to as the Motto and 999 Top Variety. The Krewe of Bacchus was organized in 1968 and held their first Street Paradeand Mardi Gras Ball, and issued their first Mardi Gras Doubloons in 1969.Today, these First Year Fine Silver Bacchus Doubloons are extremely rare and very hard to find.(Unless specifically described as toning, any Gold, Green and Purple hues appearing on a doubloon are the reflection of a Mardi Gras Banner which hangs above my desk.)
