Yarrowstalks #2 - R. Crumb Head Comix Psychedelia Scarce Underground Tab '67:
Published by David Auten and Brian Zahn in 1967, Yarrowstalks lasted three issues. All of the issues are hard to find and desirable, especially - but not exclusively - due to the Robert Crumb content. This is issue #2, and it has the full page R. Crumb strip, Head Comix strip (Hey Boparee Bop!) published pre-Zap. This issue is of major historical importance in the history of underground comix. It is the issue that Charles Plymell showed to Don Donahue, before either had met Crumb. Plymell pirated the strip and put it into his "Last Times" publication. A relationship with R. Crumb and the publication of Zap was to follow soon after.
Most of the issue consists of psychedelic LSD inspired artwork, interesting mandala-esque stuff, and such. There are also a few full page artsy photos of a nude couple, two pages of great period ads. 16 pages in all, opens to 11" x 15-1/2". Philadephia.
There is some cover wear to the front and back. This consists of some wear spots as well as a few small holes, front and back. A little edge wear also, but no tears. Pic of front cover is fairly high resolution and should give a good representation. Interior in excellent condition. This has never been folded. (Pics are composites from scans.)
Low minimum with ! Again, this is an extremely rare piece. Fogel's Guide is way off on the pricing for this item.
