Yoruba Signed Akin Fakeye Vintage Wood Carved Sculpture Art Africa For Sale
From the Nigerian wood carvingFakeye family here is a sculpture from Akin Fakeye (signed on bottom). Beautifully sculpted African tribe woman with children. I do not know the date of this carving. There are two nicks in the wood on the bottom of the base (shown in pictures). There is somewhat of a musty wood smell to this, so if you know of a way to get this smell out, or do not mind the smell, this is a great piece to own! Sits at 16" tall. With what I have read the Fakeye family has work in numerous exhibits, with Akin's brother having work in the Smithsonian. Highly collectible, beautiful piece here!
