avery fine hand mirror that sadly has suffered in that the mirror plate is no longer present and thereare a couple of small repairs inside where the handle joins the main body,(it has been suggested that the mirrors were smashed to weigh it in for scrap!),the piece was designed by kate harris for her puritan maid range of pieces for william huttonto be sold through various high end retailers the like of liberty & co,connells of cheapside etc, there were several designers using this medium of design and decoration during this era, amongst those the most notable were, jessie m king, archibald knox, murrle bennett(all of whom produced designs for the cymric range of silverware for liberty's)charles hornerand james fenton.this ranks along side those in both design and quality of manufacture.it measures a tad under 10" high and 3.5" across and weighs 98gfully markedwith the assay office marks for london, date lettere for 1900,please feel free to ask any questions and i will reply within 24hours,this is a genuine piece albeit a sad case but i'm sure someone has the skill required to replace the mirror plate, the silver itself is in good order with just a few age related scratches.postage is by recorded delivery in the u.k and airsure or signed for to international destinations.this is the second of the sad cases that i have listed recently,
