an 18th lacquer seal

known as a

Swivel Seal Fob

it is a pendant, with a white metal, openwork handle holding a solid faceted cut, piece of rock crystal as the seal

with a triple matrix surface, one is engraved

with a coat of arms, depicting:

a seven pearled crown above a shield, on the shield lining for an azure / blue field, with on it a bird sitting on a pointed structure, the shield is supported by two griffins rampant and rear-regardant, with spreaded wings / flight, langued / with tongues, their tail between the legs

the sides of the rock are faceted to get a catch of light as a prism

the silver/metal part is casted with flowers

condition: the mount is missing it\'s \"eye\" / the O-ring of the spinner and the lower part of the screw / the clip, there are some little chips to the crystal

no hallmarks found

height:ca. 3,5 cm / ca. 1.4 inch

weight: circa 13 gr.

provenance: a private Dutch collection of lacquer seals, acquired in 2017 by Delta 98 Den Haag
