Here is an antique classic Guerlain Shalimar perfume bottle. It is an old estate piece and probably dates from the 1920's or 1930's. The fan shaped top with fingernail grooves says "Guerlain Paris" in gold. The original cord that threads through an opening in the top and then around the neck is intact and undisturbed with it's original looping on both sides. I know there's a little space inside the bottle, but the cord is so tight, taut, and all in it's proper place, with a knot in front, I don't see how the bottle could have been opened. It could have just come this way, or the perfume condensed over time. If someone did open it, they would have had to re-loop it and retie the knot in front, if that was even possible. ...It's about 6 3/4" high. The fan shaped body has vertical concave ribs. It's top shoulder has convex ribs. The base has finely cut thick scalloped edges. The base has all sharp edges and points. The base has no chips, cracks, nicks, dings, or roughness. The entire bottle has no chips, nicks, or cracks. The side's ribs are nice and smooth. The top fan stopper and it's edges are perfect with no issues. The bottle opening lip is fine, too. The only thing I can see on the whole piece is a few tiny rough or abrasion specs on the top ribbed shoulder. On the front is a gold sticker with black lettering that says SHALIMAR." The "L" and "I" have some wear to the black. On the bottom is acid etched with "GUERLAIN PARIS FRANCE" and the bottle maker's company circle mark that says "CRISTAL NANCY" with a Daum type double crossed vertical line. It was made by a high end art glass company called "Cristal Nancy," or "Cristalleries de Nancy", a contemporary of Daum in the same town. They, along with Baccarat and one other company made these same bottles for Shalimar. The bottom also has an engraved "29." Then there's an oval sales or inventory sticker on the bottom that says "22C-." It covers a rectangular sticker which is probably either a Cristalleries de Nancy sticker or another Guerlain Shalimar one. The perfume bottle is nicer looking than it looks here. The base, body, and top were all very finely made. The tiny specs you see in my 5th photo under the label do not exist, they were just reflections.
