Antique Chinese Folding Screen Embroidery For Sale
this interesting embroidery has been removed from a folding screen with 3 panels (one great center panel recovered by a smaller panel from each side, when closed). Left and right panel embroidery are stitched on the blue silk, the center pannel has been sewn right in the middle. 4 small octogonal embroidered pieces have also been applied for decoration on the blue satin ground as well as 2 pieces removed from a robe (these 2 are fragile with fraying). It is in quite good condition as for the embroideries but there are remains of glue to the back of the former folds (see last pictures.) and a few tiny holes along these folds (picture 8). These remains have caused some minor wrinkles to the folding line. Picture ten shows the fabric folded as it was on the screen, showing the remains of glue on the reverse. At the lower edge there are 2 tiny splits at the beginning of the folding lines see last pictures. These flaws are not to be neglected but in spite of these there are good re-use possibilities. The express mail, if travelling only 1 week, starts at 30$ + insurance and requires more complete forms to fill, customs and other...I'm always glad to combine shipping but please let me know in advance when you plan several purchases (to avoid unnecessary packing) I charge no packing or handling fees and I use recycled wrappings and boxes as far as possible. Indicated shipping price is an estimation. If after packing there is a difference, I refund the exceeding amount, if I underestimated, the difference is for me. Except snow-storm or car-problem I send the day following payment. Please be aware that whatever I'm listing, (mostly fabric, materials, costume pieces, lace and accessoires to repair) it can sometimes be in good condition but it is NEVER NEW from a shop shelf!!!! (so signs of a former life are often noticeable unless they are described clearly as VGC or AS
