Bradley Hubbard Antique Arts Crafts Mission Slag Glass Handel Era Lamp Nr For Sale
i have for sale this very nice arts and crafts style signed bradley and hubbard lamp. this is a very nice and clean 1915-1925 period lamp that is in excellent original condition. this is a full sized lamp measuring 23 and 1/2 inches tall with the shade being 18 and 1/2 inches wide so its a big lamp. lets start with the shade. all original glass without any chips, cracks, or losses of any kind. had that great b and h strong yellow color in the upper panels and the very nice green in the lower for a great two tone color shade. all the tabs holding the glass presented and accounted for as well as all the outside filligree. the filligree strong and solid throughout as well. the base recently rewired with proper period style cloth cord and old plug and properly signed with the b and h logo at the top. there is no metalware breaks or damage to report as well and both sockets in good working order. i am selling this lamp without reserve to the highest buyer here on . thanks for looking and please check out my other lighting sales as i have some great period arts and crafts lamps for sale.buyers

degree of expectationon your part inknowing that there will be normal
aging and minor imperfections towards an item that is 75 to 100 years
old. chances are if there arent any, its a newer item and
youshouldntwant it anyways. in other words, a minor blemish on some
metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flake
missing, please try and be reasonable. i really dont want to do a refund
because the finial ( typically a 10.00 piece ) isnt perfect on a
2,000.00 lamp. i always describe the important aspects towards condition
reports and sometimes my eye misses what i deem immaterial issues such
as the aforementioned sentence. it seems the more experienced an antique
dealeror buyeris, the more understanding of condition they are. that
being said, if you think your going to be a difficult buyer because you
want perfection in a 100 year old piece, please purchase another
sellers product. has made itvery difficult for sellers in the past
few years yet im a good seller who wants to be fair and all i ask for
is a fair buyer to do business with. thanks for your understanding.

There
are a few things in life we can’t do without. Food, water, fire,
oxygen, the sun, shelter etc. So when it comes to shelter and necessary
light for it, that’s where I come in. I believe in living simply and
within my means butsurrounded by items of great quality. I would rather
own a great reverse painted lamp or Stickley bookcase than drive a
foreign car that will only depreciate in value and cost me good money
for repairs and maintenance. Or pay $40,000 in property taxes a year on a
7,000 square foot home that I only use 2500 sq. ft.of and the wasteful
utilities that go along with that.
So
why is it people go out and spend say $500.00 bucks on a pair of lamps
that in ten years will be in a rummage sale with the hopes of getting
$15.00 for the pair. Why not spend $1,000 on a lamp and have something
meaningful, and when you tire of it ten years later, sell it, and get
your money back in its entirety or even make a profit on top of the
investment. Not to mention you got the same usage for that entire time
period? This makes infinitely more financial sense than the other
choice, plus you have a conversation piece in the room and something to
be proud of. Also you have more cultural feeling invested in something
100 years old knowing that it can never be duplicated by modern making
techniques and knowing there a few, if any, like it left for this world
and now it’s yours. You own it. You display it and care for it. It
becomes part of you so to speak versus a throw away item that was
purchased at Raymour and Flanigan, Sears, Macy’s or Walmart.
So
again that’s where I come in. lighting. Great period lighting when
electricity was still in its infancy. When makers like Bradley and
Hubbard, Handel, Tiffany studios, Pairpoint,and others cared about
quality, appearance, and function. When makers were trying to outdo one
another with this new business boom of electriclighting. When we went
from whale and kerosene oil lamps and gas,to electric. This is when the
best lamps in the world were manufactured and the ones I want to light
my home with when its dark. I can’t control the sun or the amount of
light it provides or when it comes up or goes down, and whether it’s
cloudy or not, but I can control the light in my home when its dark. and
like I said earlier, I want nice rugs, paintings, pottery, furniture,
etc. and I want to see those itemslit by great lighting. It’s what
makes a home more outstanding and livable because without it you see
absolutely nothing. A quality lamp makes or breaks a room. You can have
the best rugs, furniture, paintings, and accessories in the world, but
without great lamps or lighting nobody will ever see it. Buy quality and
you will never regret it.
