Somewhat worn yet still stunning large family Bible complete with fully embossed and gilt designed Full-Leather covers, with central designs in shining gilt, as shown, gilt still bright but slightly faded; sadly spine cover loose from the pages. Main block shaken first bunch of pages detached with wear, or loose with some light browning, chipping etc.Page edges shining gilt, comes with one silver clasp the other is missing, alightly loosened at the bottom mount. The marriage certificate as well as the family pages contain a few entries (along with some obituary clippings) entries for the Thorpe family and the names Dew, Hertel, Carey. The interior of this Bible overall is in decent shape, really littered with countless illustrations both in text and plates, color, gilt, black and white- with a whole slew of them. This bible contains the old and new testaments and Apocryopha .There is also a place for photos in the back of the bible. Dimensions roughly 10\" wide, 12\" tall, and over 5\" thick- a real behemoth! A true gem and a trailblazing survivor in need of a little TLC. Good luck!
