A very rare Russian Silverwalking cane - the handle is in cast and hand chased875 silver of a highly detailed retriever dog, by a master silversmith. The handle is hallmarked on the dog collarfor St. Petersburg, Russia - stamped "84" zolotnilki (875 silver), and workmaster, "WH". The cast handle is a massive 5 ounces of silver. The dog has faceted "ruby" eyes.
The handle is mounted on a lovely rosewood or ebony shaft, with a 5/8" silver collar engraved w/ "I.H. Fuller", terminating in a long2 3/4" iron ferrule.
The cane is 34 3/4" long x 7/8" in diameter where it joins the handle. The handle is2 1/8" tall x 1 3/4" deep x 1 1/2" wide. Condition is very good.
A must have for collectors of exceptional antique canes, and pre revolutionary Russian silver.
