Ca. 1930s Texas Pearl Beer Octagonal Neon Clock Sign; “bottle Of Pearl Please” For Sale
This is an original ca. 1930s-1940s Pearl Beer octagonal neon clock sign. This heavy clock measures 18” across and has a bright yellow center with “Bottle of Pearl, Lager Beer, Please” in red and black. Deco mirror design around the edges of the glass clock face in sliver and red. This is a nice early neon clock when Pearl Beer was brewed in San Antonio, Texas. Sold as is. CONDITION: There is a horizontal crack in the glass face of the clock across the lower 1/3, just below “Pearl”; in addition, there is some loss of design on the bottom of the clock face, see the photos for close-up details. We plugged the clock in and the round neon tube lit up dimly, so the tube appears to be good, but the transformer is weak. When plugged in you can hear the clock motor running, however, we did not leave this plugged in long because of the sketchy cord. This would make an outstaying restoration project. Because of the size, weight, and awkward shape we are only offering local pick-up or you can arrange for packing and shipping and we will deliver to your local packer/shipper.
