Ca1870 Occupational Tintype Photo Of Cigar Salesman W/ Cigar Box & Cigars For Sale
Rare and wonderful original, ca1870, Occupational Tintype Photograph of a Cigar Salesman displaying an open Box of Cigars. This wonderful, Sixth Plate size, Tintype Photo measures approx. 2 1/2" by 3” and pictures a rather young Salesman wearing a beaver fur top hat, jacket and rather long gold watch chain. In his right hand he displays an open cigar box with cigars. The young Salesman is not smoking a cigar and it is obvious from the content of this image that he is displaying his “wares”.
While the Image is unidentified and undated, the style of the Cigar box and the design of the inner box label are typical of the late 1860’s and 1870’s period.
This wonderful, 1870's Cigar Salesman, Occupational Tintype Photo is in very good condition. The Image exhibits sharp focus, strong contrast and rich tonality. There are a few tiny and scattered spots of surface loss, a couple of small and unobtrusive scratches as well as some very shallow and unobtrusive surface bends. The tintype is housed in one half of a hard case with brass mat and binding.
A very rare and wonderful, ca1870 Occupational Tintype Photograph of a Cigar Salesman displaying an open Box of Cigars and a fantastic addition to any collection!!!

Important Notes about Shipping Charges:
The amount quoted for Shipping & Handling is calculated by and is equal to the EXACT amount charged by the Post Office plus a $1.00 "packing fee" - the $1.00 fee is our only compensation for the virgin packing materials we use on all of our professionally packaged boxes as well as our cost for the salaried help that does most of our packing - as I am sure you can see, we make NO profit on the Shipping charges and, in fact, our costs are usually greater than the $1.00 fee. Please contact us if there are any issues regarding the cost of shipping.
