Ca1905 Sterling Silver Santa Claus / Christmas Figural Handle Souvenir Spoon For Sale
Beautiful and very rare, ca1905, Sterling Silver, Santa Claus / Christmas / 'Twas The Night Before Christmas, Figural Handle Souvenir Spoon with a wonderful, double sided figure of Santa Claus descending a chimney to deliver his toys!!
This outstanding, Figural Handle Souvenir Spoon measures approx. 4 1/2" long and has a figure of Santa Claus about to descend into a chimney at the top of the handle. Below the chimney there are holly leaves and below the leaves there are Christmas bells. The lower portion of the handle features text that reads "'Twas The Night Before Christmas. The bowl of the spoon features a wonderful image of Christmas Stockings "hung by the chimney with care". The Spoon is marked Sterling and carries the hallmark of the manufacturer - The Gorham Manufacturing Co. of Providence, Rhode Island.
This very rare and very beautiful, Sterling Silver Christmas / Santa Claus, Figural Handle Souvenir Spoon is in excellent condition - crisp and beautiful - strongly cast with no significant wear even to the highest spots. We have not cleaned the spoon but offer it here in "as found" condition with light age patina (the spoon will certainly shine up beautifully if the buyer wishes to do so).
