Ca1910 Cherry Smash Countertop Soda Fountain Syrup Dispenser With Jug For Sale
Rare and very attractive, ca1910, original, Soda Fountain Syrup Dispenser for “Fowler's Cherry Smash” Soda / Flavoring. This outstanding and very heavy Glass Countertop Dispenser is made up of a two part base and would hold a one gallon bottle of Cherry Smash Syrup (turned upside down) on the top. The bottom half of the base is made of a very thick, opaque white milk glass with raised red lettering on the front and back panels that reads ""Drink Cherry Smash". Permanently affixed to the top of the milk glass base is a thick and paneled, clear glass font which is open at the top. The Dispenser came to us with a 1 gallon syrup jug similar to one containing Cherry Smash Syrup, however the Cherry Smash label on the Jug is a recreation and not original.
There is a bung hole in the front panel of the clear glass font which would have had a spigot inserted into it but the spigot is lacking. We have only seen one other example of this particular Cherry Smash Soda Fountain Dispenser before and that was in a Museum Collection where it was displayed with an original jug of Cherry Smash Syrup turned upside down and inserted into the top opening of the font.
This rare and very attractive, Fowler’s Cherry Smash Soda Fountain Syrup Dispenser is in good to very good condition. The milk glass base has no damage or repairs but does have some wear to the red lettering on the raised advertising text (see the scans below) and lacks 2 of the 4 tiny, rubber feet on the underside. The thick and paneled clear glass font is intact and displays nicely but does have a crack that nearly encircles the font near its base (again see the scans below). As stated above the Dispenser lacks its original spigot and the Gallon Jug which came with it may or may not have originally been filled with Cherry Smash Syrup as the affixed label is not original but a recreation for display purposes.
This rare Cherry Smash Soda Fountain Dispenser displays well but does have the flaws listed above.
A very rare and very attractive, ca1910 "Fowler’s Cherry Smash" Soda Fountain Countertop Syrup Dispenser and a nice display piece or addition to any collection!!!
