This sale: A military badge from imperial Japan. This is the Type II War Wound Badge, established in 1938; abolished in 1945. Superb design with red jeweled shields. These shields are often cracked, and this example has some damage, too. Also some minor spots of wear, but nothing distracting. See pictures for condition please.

Inscribed \'koshou (公傷)\' on reverse, which is the version given to soldiers and sailors who were injured outside of combat, most often for contracted diseases like malaria. But also foraccidents in militarymanoeuvres, training, etc.
